Nameko mushrooms, size 4, are renowned for their unique texture, both slippery and crunchy. The still-closed Nameko buds, called “tsubomi,” offer a distinct crunchy experience compared to open mushrooms.
These delicious mushrooms are carefully grown by partner farmers in the Liaoning province of China, then processed into cans at a local factory in the region. Rigorous controls are carried out on raw materials to guarantee their quality. The mushrooms are then sorted by size using a sorting machine, and we ensure that the stems of the Nameko buds are not damaged or cracked, ensuring consistent quality.
Each can contains 200g of Nameko solids, enough to make approximately 8 servings of miso soup. In addition to traditional miso soup, Nameko can be used to enhance the flavor of dishes, such as mixed with grated radish, added to cooked rice or made into crispy tempura. Their versatility makes them suitable for a variety of cuisines, whether traditional Japanese dishes like pasta or sauces for grilled fish, or even fried rice dishes, a specialty of Chinese cuisine.
